Hayden Flook SEAS’25 is being recognized for his commitment to inclusion, advocacy and community-building across Columbia University. As president of GendeRevolution, Columbia’s trans advocacy group, he led initiatives that promote equity, visibility and support for trans and nonbinary students, helping to shape a more inclusive campus environment. As a leader, crew captain and program coordinator in the Columbia Outdoor Orientation Program , he has helped create spaces where incoming students feel welcomed, affirmed and empowered to show up as their authentic selves. Flook’s work with the program reflects a deep investment in peer mentorship and fostering a culture of belonging. He also serves as team manager for the Columbia women’s lacrosse team, a role in which he exemplifies empathy, reliability and behind-the-scenes leadership. As a dedicated operations research student in Columbia Engineering, Flook is being recognized for his character, integrity and service to the community. He consistently shows up with authenticity, compassion and drive, making him a trusted and inspiring presence among his peers.

Your belief in me has given me the strength to be visible, to push for change, to move through the world spreading love and caring for others, and to find my purpose.
