Fenway Donegan CC’25 is a graduating senior double-majoring in American studies and Germanic languages and culture. During his time at Columbia, Donegan was awarded the inaugural Margaret O’Neill Fellowship at the Jay Heritage Center, received junior Phi Beta Kappa, was selected to study at the Freie Universität Berlin, and worked as a legal research associate for a New York State Assemblyman. Outside of classes, Donegan remained active within extracurricular clubs, serving as the president of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club, the treasurer and publisher of the Columbia Federalist, a model for the Columbia Artist Society, and as a superuser at the Makerspace. Donegan is a proud lifer of the New Student Orientation Program, serving as an Explore NYC tour guide. Never one to turn down an opportunity, he supplemented his classwork by working as a bartender through the Columbia Bartending Agency and as a costume shop assistant for Columbia’s graduate theater program.
Thank you to all the wonderful people at Columbia and Barnard who I have the privilege of calling my friends. After starting Columbia by getting hit by a car, while also not being enrolled as a student due to a clerical error, I really could not imagine that I would look back on my time here as some of the best years of my life. But I wouldn’t trade them for anything. I love y’all!
