Community Building
Senior Marshal
Boris Bulatovic CC’25 is a senior majoring in physics with a concentration in mathematics. He is being recognized for his significant contributions to community-building within the Physics Department and his residential community. Bulatovic has been a key member of Spectra, the student-led club promoting engagement and collaboration in the department. As a member of the executive board, he led graduate school mentorship initiatives, contributed to the Physics Scholars Program, and organized onboarding and social events for students. He also directed an intensive summer mentoring program for rising sophomores focused on strengthening theoretical foundations and developing research skills. In addition, Bulatovic served on the Department’s Community Committee, working with students and faculty to analyze climate survey results and recommend improvements. He has served as a teaching assistant and residential adviser for the past two years — roles that pushed him beyond his comfort zone and deepened his connection to the Columbia community.
I’m deeply grateful to receive this year’s Community Building Award. I want to extend my sincere thanks to my family, friends and professors for encouraging me to embrace all the opportunities Columbia has to offer. I’m especially appreciative of the members of the Physics Department who have supported me over the past four years.
P.S. Shoutout to my favorite Wallach RA — @Jma!
