Donna is a senior from Vancouver, Canada and Shanghai, China majoring in Economics and History. During her time at Columbia, she has remained steadfast in listening and giving back to her community. She has previously served as the Director-General for Columbia Model United Nations Conference and Exposition, and currently serves as coordinator for the Global Ambassador Program and student representative on Columbia College's Committee on Instruction. Her work has focused on encouraging others to listen to other people's experiences and advocating for diverse perspectives to be considered in all aspects of life at Columbia and beyond. As a scholar, she has engaged in promoting the humanities as a Rose Research Ambassador and coordinating materials for the Weatherhead East Asian Institute’s Asia for Educator's Program. Her work underscores the fundamental belief that a meaningful education is not only meant to cultivate one’s intellectual life, but their moral one as well.
I am extremely humbled and grateful to receive these awards. It has been a joy to be immersed in this community and constantly learning from it throughout my undergraduate years. My achievements would not have been possible without the support of my friends, professors, mentors, and my family. Thank you for encouraging me to live my life with grace, humility, and most crucially, a sense of humor!
