School of Engineering and Applied Science Scholar Athlete Award
Elisa is a student-athlete in SEAS studying Computer Science who is a member of the Columbia-Barnard Women's Rowing team. Elisa is being recognized for her hard work and commitment in pursuing both athletics and academics at a high level. On the water, Elisa competed in the Varsity 8+ at the 2022 Ivy League Championships, earned 2 medals at the 2022 Canada Summer Games, and was invited to the 2023 Selection Camp for the Canadian Under-23 National Team. In school, Elisa was a TA for Computer Networks and Computer Systems for Data Science. She has also been conducting cybersecurity research since her sophomore year, and will be pursuing a PhD in this field starting Fall 2023.
Shout-out to my teammates (past and present) on the rowing team! You all inspire me with your dedication and resilience, and help me become the best version of myself. Thank you to my coaches, professors, and (last but certainly not least) my parents, for your unwavering support and believing in me. Being a student-athlete at Columbia has been an exceptionally humbling and rewarding journey, and will definitely leave a lasting mark on my life.
