Andrew C. Heinrich Prize
Karina Feng is a senior in Columbia College studying Psychology and Statistics. During her time at Columbia, she has advocated for inclusivity, equity, and kindness on and off campus. Karina serves as a leader, mentor, and friend for students across campus through her roles as a Resident Advisor, peer tutor in the Statistics department, and mentor for the Columbia Mentoring Initiative (Asian Family Tree). She is dedicated to educational advocacy and has been an active member of Matriculate for all four years, mentoring multiple high school students across the U.S. in the college admissions process. Karina is currently serving as Head Advising Fellow of the Columbia/Barnard cohort who collectively mentor 200+ high schoolers nationwide. Karina is being recognized for her dedication to building safe and inclusive spaces within Columbia that reach out to the community beyond.
I am truly so honored to receive this award. I would like to thank my family, friends, mentors, and professors who have supported me in all parts of my college journey. Thank you for the compassion, encouragement, and opportunities to pursue my goals and give back to my community.
