Civic Responsibility
Wadzanayi is a graduating senior from Harare, Zimbabwe, majoring in Neuroscience and Behavior. She is the Founding Director of Youth Against Cancer, a non-profit organization driven to advocate for better cancer relief efforts for all in Zimbabwe. During her college career, Wadzanayi organized virtual cancer awareness campaigns and led fundraising projects to assist young cancer patients in Zimbabwe with treatment expenses. She also volunteered for the Filipino Cancer foundation, speaking about her experiences as a cancer survivor in a bid to spread awareness and raise funds for the organization’s beneficiaries in the U.S and Philippines. On campus, Wadzanayi was the Accessibility Director for Grey Matters where she spearheaded efforts to address inclusion and accessibility concerns in the journal’s articles. She also served as the National Peer Support Group Coordinator for Synapse National where she assisted efforts to establish virtual peer support groups for survivors of traumatic brain injuries and individuals with invisible disabilities in U.S states without Synapse chapters.
