Innovation and Enhancement
Rachel Marsh is an accomplished graduating senior at Columbia University, being recognized for her commitment to the student-athlete community here at Columbia University. She has distinguished herself academically, being recognized as a 2x Academic All-Ivy honoree and 3x Dean's List honoree. In addition to her academic achievements, Rachel is a short sprinter on the Women's Track and Field team and currently serves as a team captain. As the President and Co-founder of Columbia's groundbreaking Black Student-Athlete Alliance, Rachel oversees the group's operations and actively works towards the advancement of black student-athletes at Columbia. Alongside the entire board, the work done through the BSAA has resulted in increased one-on-one interactions among student-athletes of different sports, monthly programming that promotes communication and open dialogue among all Black student-athletes at Columbia, and successful liaison between athletes and Columbia's Board of Athletics to communicate energies, concerns, and opinions under the university system. After graduation, Rachel will join a consulting firm in New York City, with aspirations of eventually pursuing a secondary graduate program or attending law school.
It is a great honor to be recognized and a recipient of this award. Thank you to all of the various mentors, coaches, and peers that have helped me along my journey here at Columbia and as I continue on.
