Award Recognition

Community Building
Senior Marshal
Thomas "Pop" Harrington Medal
Athena has been a dedicated leader of many organizations where she fostered strong, healthy, spirited communities across campus. Firstly, she has served as the Producer, Choreographer, Public Relations Chair, and Social Chair of the Orchesis Dance Group. She led the technical-creative team, organizing events, and championed the mission of inclusivity by building collaborative works with dancers of all styles and levels. As a Class of 2023 representative on the Engineering Student Council, she worked to address students’ concerns, designed unique merchandise, and organized and staffed events. With the Engineering Recruitment Committee, Athena led tours for incoming and prospective students and families, and managed cohorts during on-campus events. Finally, as an international student herself, Athena worked with the International Student Orientation Program as coordinator and orientation leader to organize activities for welcoming students to campus and aid in making the transition to a new school and country easier.
I am deeply honored to be receiving these awards. A special thank you to everyone who has supported me in the big and small ways these past four years. From my peers, to my best-friends on campus and back home, The Cellular Engineering Lab, my advisors, and all the adorable dogs that let me pet them around campus. And of course, the biggest thank- you-s of all to God and my loving family!
