Senior Marshal
Sophia Naqvi builds innovative, inclusive, and engaged communities at Columbia. As the President, VP, and Membership Engagement Chair of the Columbia Women’s Business Society, Sophia established landmark initiatives serving over 2000+ women, including a 40-volume digital publication focused on women’s entrepreneurship, a mentorship program involving 70+ students, and events with Fortune 500 executives. Sophia expanded the reach of CWBS through creating and/or overseeing various subsidiary groups, including The Scope and Columbia Women in the Arts. She has additionally contributed to organizations such as the URC, Columbia Venture Partners, and the Helvidius Journal. Sophia’s commitment to innovation extends to her academic accomplishments – Sophia was awarded the James P. Shenton Prize in Contemporary Civilization for an essay highlighting the applicability of political philosophy to contemporary social issues.
