Senior Marshal
Jennifer Zhang is a political science major and President of the Columbia Policy Institute. She is deeply passionate about advancing racial and economic justice through public policy and campus advocacy. She organized a Policy Institute trip to DC for 56 students in the fall of 2022, planned with the purpose of connecting FGLI and historically marginalized students to professional opportunities. Jenn has been a Mentor in the Columbia Mentoring Initiative for three years. She has been an orientation leader for two years in the CUE/CARE track. Off-campus, Jenn is a Mediator in the NYS Attorney General’s office, where she has recovered over half a million dollars for consumers, and a Policy Coordinator for the Roosevelt Network, where she helps train students in policy research and writing. She has interned for Senator Elizabeth Warren, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, and the New York State Assembly.
I am deeply honored to receive this award, and grateful to the friends and family who supported me throughout my time at Columbia. Special thanks to all the members of the Columbia Policy Institute and the Mentoring Initiative.
