Award Recognition

Inclusion and Advocacy
Joy Mobley is being recognized for her commitment to impact and inclusion, which has informed her leadership. Joy stands out for her passion for justice, her interest in learning and teaching, and her goal to work towards equal rights— particularly among underrepresented and underprivileged communities. Her commitment is evident in her work with under-resourced high schools through Model UN, spearheading programs as the Vice President of the Black Students' Organization, and working to make entrepreneurship more accessible through CORE. Joy is focused on education and access. In all of her projects and involvement, she displays great energy and dedication: she started a social media campaign to educate youth about injustice, she served under the Urban League, and she works with Columbia Housing Equity Project to help the surrounding homeless community.
It is with great honor that I receive the Leadership and Excellence Award for Inclusion and Advocacy. Under my leadership occupations, I have always sought to positively impact students. Helping others has been the essence of my character, and I am grateful for this recognition. I would like to thank God, my family, friends, and all who have enriched my Columbia experience.
