Maya Mitrasinovic has demonstrated civic responsibility on campus through her involvement with ColumbiaVotes and the Columbia Daily Spectator. At ColumbiaVotes, Maya has promoted voter engagement through tabling across campus, outreach to academic departments, and leading discussions about local elections with her peers. As the City News Editor of the Spectator, Maya works to ensure that Columbia students and West Harlem residents have a news source that they can rely on to provide vital and accurate information on what's happening in their neighborhood. Maya believes strongly in the power of the news and the importance of voting in upholding the pillars of democracy, and she looks forward to continuing to push for voting rights and accessible, accurate news throughout her time at Columbia and after graduation.
