School of Engineering and Applied Science Scholar Athlete Award
Pedro is a current senior in SEAS majoring in CS. He is on the lightweight men’s rowing team since walking on his freshman year. Pedro is Portuguese but grew up in London for most of his life. He looks forward to living in New York after graduation as he works as a Data Engineer. He’s thankful for this award and the reflection of hard work and balance that he resembles. He hopes it can show to others that you can try different things while at Columbia and not simply limit yourself to one.
I’d like to thank my parents, Luis and Cristina, my brother, my girlfriend, all my other friends and coaches for believing in me and for helping me get through the ups and downs throughout the last 4 years. I would not have been able to keep moving forward as I have without your support, particularly with the pandemic changing all of our lives. I’ll make sure to live up to your trust.
