Monique Slowly is a BA/MPH candidate at Columbia College and the Mailman School of Public Health, studying Biology and Environmental Health Sciences. Throughout her undergraduate career, she has shown dedication to health equity especially in her leadership role with Students for Health Education, Access, and Literacy. As a former resident adviser and teaching assistant for Environment, Health, and Justice, Monique has demonstrated an aptitude for community building. She hopes to continue to be a positive and supportive influence for the broader Columbia community.
I am honored to receive the Leadership and Excellence award in Health and Wellness. I would like to thank my friends and family for their continuous love and support. I am incredibly grateful for the peers, faculty, and staff that I have met through Columbia who have inspired and shaped me in unimaginable ways.
