Award Recognition

Inclusion and Advocacy
Ikenna Nebo is being recognized for creating important support structures for Black and Brown students. While at Columbia, he co-founded You Can Too, a non-profit that matches Black and Brown high school students with college students. He has been a leader in facilitating the organization?s growth from a few Columbia students to involvement of students from over 25 top universities across the country. Through his efforts, it now serves hundreds of high school students from across the tristate area and beyond. Additionally, Ikenna balances his time on campus with involvements like the African Students Association and an Undergraduate Diversity-Equity-Inclusion and Access Coalition he recently co-founded at the Zuckerman Institute, where he continues to embody inclusivity, charisma, dependability, and determination.
Thank You so very much for this recognition. To be recognized for my work is an honor and a blessing. I truly would not be able to do the work I do, if not for the tremendous support and inspiration I receive from my family, friends, and colleagues, so this recognition is as much theirs as it is mine. Most importantly, none of these efforts are possible without God, who continues to bless and motivate me and those around me. There's still so much work left to be done, but I am extremely grateful for the work that I have been able to do so far.
