Inclusion and Advocacy
Tigidankay Saccoh has created supportive spaces for Black and Brown peoples through various initiatives, most notably You Can Too and Darkest Hue. While at Columbia, she co-founded You Can Too, a non-profit that matches Black and Brown high school students with college students. She is instrumental to the organization's growth which now spans over 25 top universities and serves hundreds of high school students. She also created Darkest Hue, an online educational platform where she explores how colorism intersects medical racism, misogyny, pop culture, and classism for Black women historically and present day. It has nearly 60,000 Instagram followers and has been recognized by the Malala Fund and Essence Magazine. Through her crowdfunding facilitation, she is able to get emergency funds directly to Black mothers and children globally. Recently, her creative crowdfunding efforts helped get funds to 100+ Black people impacted by the southern winter power outages.
