Alina Ying has been selected to represent the Columbia Engineering graduating class as a senior marshal. She has provided years of service to the Engineering Student Council, elected as First-Year Vice President, Sophomore Class President, and then Student Body President during her Junior year. During her terms, Alina has exemplified leadership, successfully driven many policy initiatives, and championed student engagement. She has also served as a teaching assistant for Data Structures in Java, research assistant for the ROAM and Speech Lab, and executive committee member for the Chinese Student Club. Through it all, Alina's dedication and positivity has fostered community, promoted equity, and greatly improved the experiences of her peers.
