This session in partnership with University Life is part of Integrity Week 2025. Those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or other neurodivergent experiences often have to conform to a society that was inherently built to disadvantage the way they exist in the world. In this presentation we will begin scratching the surface on the challenges neurodivergent individuals face within a capitalist system, including workplace accommodations, societal biases, and economic disparities. We will discuss the potential benefits of neurodiversity in fostering innovation and creativity, while also shedding light on the urgency of dismantling ableist structures to create inclusive and equitable institutions that value diverse cognitive perspectives. We will end with some tips and suggestions on how to support our neurodivergent students and peers.
