Journalism has arguably never been more vital. But it has not been tested like this in generations. Democracy appears threatened at home and abroad, and media organizations and individual reporters alike are faced with a confluence of challenges: assaults from public officials; distrust from the public; financial woes causing newsrooms to shrink; the looming problems -- and opportunities -- posed by Artificial Intelligence. Jonathan will talk about the state of journalism, drawing upon his experiences both in front of the camera at MSNBC and as a print journalist at The Atlantic, the AP, Politico, and more. And he'll talk about his origins as a campus reporter at Columbia, including at the Spectator, and look to engage with young journalists -- who are needed now more than ever. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session moderated by the Director of Academic Integrity, Dr. Victoria Malaney-Brown.

Please register for the Webinar on Zoom to attend virtually or join us in person at 401 Lerner Hall to watch the livestream and enjoy light refreshments.
