Bio

Dahiana Peña has demonstrated her passion for science and service throughout her time at Columbia and is graduating with a degree in Neuroscience and Latin American and Caribbean studies. She has found her "sa-familia" within Sabor, Columbia's first Latinx Dance Troupe, and has played an important role in helping organize the team's high school community outreach program, Relevé. Dahiana has also served as the Latiné Liason for the Charles Drew Premedical Society and is one of the student representatives for the Biology Department's Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. As a low-income student of color from the Bronx, she is incredibly grateful for all of the affinity groups that have offered her support through her time at Columbia. She has been accepted into the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health and the NYU School of Global Public Health for a master's in Epidemiology and hopes to enroll in graduate school this upcoming fall.
