Applications to become a "cub" are now open! The priority deadline to apply is Sunday, May 17 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. The final deadline to apply is Wednesday, July 29 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
The International Buddy Program (IBP) connects current undergraduates ("lions") with incoming international students ("cubs") as they begin their college journey at Columbia. "Lions" will share their experiences and provide advice during the summer and the initial month of your first semester.

Eligibility
- All first-year students in Columbia College and Columbia Engineering who self-identify as international are eligible to apply for a "cub" role
- IBP coordinators will do their best to match you with a buddy who fits your needs and interests
Important Dates
- All "cubs" who meet the priority application deadline will be matched with a "lion" no later than Wednesday, June 3
- Students who apply after Sunday, May 17 can expect to be informed of their matched lion 5-10 business days after they submit their application
- Cubs will meet their matched "lions" during International @ Columbia Open House on Friday. September 25, 5:00–7:00 p.m.
