Columbia Mentoring Initiative Alumni and Graduate Application 2015-2016

The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) Columbia Mentoring Initiative (CMI) is an inter-generational mentorship program that connects undergraduate students with alumni and graduate student mentors. CMI provides participants with the opportunity to get involved in various "family trees” including Arab and Middle Eastern, Asian, Black, Indigenous, International, Latino, and LGBTQ. Although applicants will be asked to specify one family tree, we recognize the multiple and intersecting identities of our participants and provide opportunities for cross-tree connections within the program. The following are ways that alumni and graduate students may get involved with CMI:

  • Mentor Match: Meet periodically with an undergraduate for one-on-one traditional mentoring
  • Mix & Mingle: Attend a dinner discussion and talk to undergraduates that are interested learning about your experiences
  • Mobile Mentor: Connect with undergraduates through social media and engage in virtual conversation

To participate, complete the electronic alumni & graduate student application. If you have additional questions or would like more information, please email CMI@columbia.edu.
