Dixon’s name has become synonymous with the creation of the Chicago blues. He wrote, produced, and backed some of the biggest names in the business from the late forties onward. He acted as an important link between the blues and rock and roll, recording with musicians such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy and Magic Sam on labels including Chess, Cobra, Columbia, Bluesville, and Verve. In addition, his solo work remains some of the most influential music of the 20th century. His legacy lives on — tune in for rare and iconic selections from his discography, including interviews, early cuts, and top hits, to honor the man who jump-started the Chicago blues tradition.
