Third and final installment of the Philip Glass Summer Opera Series on KCR. Broadcast featured "Akhnaten," based on the reign of Amenhotep IV, also known as Akhnaten, who changed the Ancient Egyptian religion from polytheism to monotheism.
Focusing on Henry Purcell, vocal music, and themes of love. Most of the music fell under three of these categories, and all of it under at least two.
This afternoon's program was dedicated to music for the viola and featured mostly twentieth century composers including Bartok and Britten.
