Arne Nordheim (1931-2010), Norwegian composer of electroacoustic music, paid frequent visits to Warsaw between 1967 to 1972 where he painted various soundscapes and participated in the local new/electronic music scene.The Onkyō-Kei is a Japanese new music movement whose name means (sound and echo). We sample here works by Toshimaru Nakamura (working with American musician Jason Kahn) and Otomo Yoshihide.
Austrian composer an sound installation artist Bernhard Gál (born 1971). Three CDs: the first an exploration of spoken sounds in different languages, the second a sound installation in Saratoga Springs in 1999 in collaboration with the Japanese architect Yumi Kori (who was inspired by the temporal aspects of hospital sounds), and the third a series of compositions inspired by the Swiss "outsider" artist Adolf Wölfli (1864-1930).
