Peer Adviser Post: Time Management Strategies to Work Smarter, not Harder

Peer Adviser Post: Time Management Strategies to Work Smarter, not Harder
by Sophie Qian, SEAS '15

When I was a freshman, I tried to be hyper-productive. I would scurry from task to task, always checking my e-mail, organizing something, making a call, running an errand, etc. I thought that “staying busy” meant hard work, which would inevitably mean success. I realized though that it really led to mindless productivity— a constant need to do something and a tendency to waste time on menial tasks.

Peer Adviser Post: Countdown to Spring Break

Peer Adviser Post: Countdown to Spring Break
by Tiffany Tuedor, SEAS '17

I’m hearing birds chirping outside my window and the snow is melting, which means only one thing; spring is almost here! It’s been a long, frigid NYC winter and midterms may be locking us up in the libraries, but hang in there. We’re only a couple days left until Spring Break!

Peer Adviser Post: Summer Internships - Things I Wish I Would Have Known

Peer Adviser Post: Summer Internship Advice
By Adeeti Katti, CC '16

I think that being within such an incredible, inspiring community like Columbia is both a blessing and a curse. I guess what I would like to share most are the things I wish I would have known while going through that process:

By Sophie Qian, SEAS '15

Welcome back to campus! Did anybody else miss the campus and walking by Low Steps every day? I sure did. After a super relaxing winter break, I'm eager to get back into the swing of class, clubs, friends, and working at the CSA! I definitely haven't settled yet into juggling so many things at once, but I'm here to help that process to go a bit quicker for everybody else. This is actually my last semester at Columbia, so I'm determined to make it the best one yet and start it off right!

Peer Adviser Post: Finals

Peer Adviser Post: Finals
By Aniekeme Umoh, SEAS '15

The semester is wrapping up and finals are around the corner. This is the last stretch. While it’s easy to lose motivation at this point, it pays now more than ever to keep it up.

As for the last week of classes, score last-minute participation points now (if applicable). As for reading week and finals in general:

Peer Adviser Post: Thanksgiving Break

Peer Adviser Post: Thanksgiving Break
By Jessica Geddes, CC '16

American Thanksgiving will be here soon, along with a much-needed break from academics. There are many different ways that Columbia students spend the holiday, and there’s no single “right way” to do Thanksgiving break. The most important thing is to return to school relaxed and rejuvenated so you can end your semester on a high note.
