The Berick Center for Student Advising is usually open Mondays-Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Dean Snider is available for scheduled appointments each week. In addition, he holds virtual drop-in hours (on Zoom) whenever classes are in session Mondays-Fridays, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Justin, born and raised in California, holds a B.A., magna cum laude, in English and German from Amherst College; an M.A. in English from the University of Chicago; an M.A. in European studies from Universität Wien; an M.Ed. in teaching and curriculum from Harvard University; an M.A. and an M.Ed. in politics and education, both from Teachers College, Columbia University; and an M.S. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He has taught University Writing at Columbia since 2008, and previously taught at the high school and university levels in Europe and Asia for six years. Justin loves traveling, learning languages and attending classical-music concerts, operas and plays. He is a contributing editor at The Hechinger Report, an education news outlet that he helped start in 2010. Justin's loyalties lie with Boston's sports teams (go Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins!).
