My name is Matthew Patashnick and I'm the Associate Dean for Student & Family Support. In my role, I work with families, faculty members, and staff members from from across the university to help support students as they navigate their academic, social, professional, and personal journey. College life can be hard sometimes and I want every Columbia student and family member to know that asking for help is a sign of strength. My office, Student & Family Support, is eager to be a resource to all students and families throughout your time at Columbia. I live on-campus with my partner and a tenacious rescue pup named Higgs. Originally from Springfield, MA, I hold a Doctorate in Higher Education Management from The University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services and Sociology from The George Washington University. I also love coffee and welcome you to join me for a cup at my favorite spots.
