Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) is for Columbia undergraduates only.

SURF allows students to work in a laboratory within the Biology department on main campus or in a lab at the Health Sciences campus. This is a full-time experience and includes a research seminar where SURF students get together to present their own research. The experience culminates with a symposium and poster presentation held at the beginning of the next spring semester. Participants receive a stipend of $3500.
