Family Orientation

Welcome, parents and families of the Class of 2019! Family Engagement is looking forward to seeing many of you in the coming months and officially welcoming you and your student to campus during Family Orientation 2015.

All Columbia College and Columbia Engineering family members are invited to join us for Family Orientation activities and workshops, designed to welcome you to the Columbia family and give you great information about the offices, resources, and staff with whom your student will closely work.

New students will move-in on either Sunday, August 30, or Monday, August 31. Your student's arrival date has been assigned by Columbia Housing and is based on his/her distance from campus. Family Orientation runs coincident with move-in and will conclude with the Convocation Ceremony on Monday afternoon, August 31.

This event is free, but providing your information will help us plan for your arrival.

12:00 - 5:00 p.m. Workshops: Get to know the offices providing academic and cocurricular support to your student. Since the main focus of your trip to campus will be helping your son or daughter settle in, sessions on topics—such as global programs, academic and career advising, responsible communities, health, and more—will be offered more than once. Individual sessions will be posted on this page as they are confirmed.

We will offer a shuttle bus to and from Bed Bath & Beyond at Broadway and 65th Street on both Sunday afternoon and on Monday morning.
