Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) provides opportunities for students to carry out independent research projects under guidance of UNC observation and communication skills. Through meetings with guest scientists, SURE enhances awareness of diversity of research areas, especially areas of current biological importance. Students receive a stipend of $4200 which includes an allowance towards travel. Room and board are provided by the program. An allowance is also available for participants to attend a national or regional scientific meeting to present their research.

Eligibility: 
Students who are interested in pursuing a PhD or attending medical school.
