In the morning, students receive instruction based on a web development curriculum for beginners. During the day, students will be visiting offices and meeting founders and other employees who will speak to them about the startup world. In the evening, after dinner and discussion, students will be taken on excursions in different parts of the city.
Academic regalia (cap and gown) is required of all graduates participating in Baccalaureate Service, Class Day, and Commencement.
For bachelor's degree candidates, it is not necessary to pre-order academic regalia.
The Columbia University Bookstore will hold its annual Grad Fair March 8-10, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the basement of Lerner Hall. Students should make arrangements to purchase a cap and gown at the Grad Fair. Bookstore staff will be on-hand to assist with measurements and sizing.
Students who were unable to attend the Grad Fair may purchase a cap and gown by visiting the Bookstore during regular business hours.
The cost for a cap, gown, and tassle for a bachelor's degree candidate is TBD for May 2017. Graduates may keep their academic regalia as a souvenir. Students may qualify for financial assistance to cover the cost of a cap and gown. For more information, stop by the Office of Financial Aid on the 6th floor of Lerner Hall in early May to speak with an adviser.
If you have questions regarding the purchasing of academic regalia, please contact the Columbia University Bookstore directly by calling 212-854-4131.
