First-Gen@Columbia is co-sponsoring Gen Day. This day is to bring awareness to the first generation community at Columbia University. First Generation Low Income Partnership (FLIP) has invited staff who identify as first-generation to participate in Gen Day by purchasing a t-shirt for $8.00 and participate in their social media campaign.
The campaign will consist of pictures taken in spaces across campus that are of significance to the first-gen community, such as: the Lending Library, the CU Food Bank, FIF, OMA, CPS, etc.
Due to limited funds, t-shirts are on a first come - first serve basis for the first (50) staff members to purchase via registration. Please note: you should have identified as a first generation college student when an undergraduate, where the t-shirt on Monday, April 10th and participate in the social media campaign in order to register and purchase a t-shirt. Students will drop off the shirts to the staff who have registered either this Friday, April 7th or Monday morning, April 10th.
