Reimagining Ekphrasis: 
The Transfer of Poetry Between the Eye and the Word

As poets and artists in conversation with each other, we will:

1.     Visit local museums and engage in the long tradition of poets writing poems within these spaces. 

2.     Consider writing and art by John Ashbery, William Blake, Tisa Bryant, Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, Matthea Harvey, Douglas Kearney, D.H. Lawrence, Maggie Nelson, Maurice Sendak, Hannah Weiner, and others, discussing the visual and textual resonances in their work. 

3. Workshop our own ekphrastic poems together.
