In Spring 2017, a class of 22 students will have the opportunity to take both Art Humanities and Music Humanities in the same semester as part of an initiative to enhance connections between the classes. The instructors of both classes will be present at every class meeting; together, they will accompany the class to all the required musical performances and museum visits. Students and instructors will have a shared experience of Art and Music Humanities.
This opportunity will be especially appealing to those students who are most looking forward to taking these two courses. Although the requirements for the individual courses will be no different from what they would be if they were being taught separately, the combination of going on several field trips to museums and attending two musical performances in a single semester will make for an intensive Core experience.
The Spring 2017 course meeting times will be:
Art Humanities on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:10-11:25 a.m.
Music Humanities on Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:10-2:25 p.m.
To apply for a place in these sections, please submit an unofficial transcript and a 250-word essay explaining why you are interested in taking art and music humanities concurrently. Apply Here
Application Deadline: Monday, October 17
If you are accepted into these sections, you will be pre-registered for both Art and Music Humanities in Spring 2017. You are required to stay in these sections once you have committed to take them.
