CSArts Fall 2014 Opening and Concert (10/24)

The Fall 2014 exhibit and concert for CSArts is this Friday, October 24 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the CSA (401 Lerner).  The exhibit includes original artwork, photography, and musical compositions.  Composers will present their music in a live concert and artists will be on hand to discuss their works and answer questions.

Fall 2014 CSArtists are Paul Bloom, Queenie Cao, Christopher Chin, Jeremy Corren, Amelia Edwards, Ariel Hidal, Zachary Seligman Karen, and Allison Scott.  Refreshments will be provided.  The exhibit is open to all students, staff, faculty, and their families.

Monday STEM Lab Opportunity (10/20)

The first week of Monday STEM Lab went well... so well in fact that we are looking for more volunteers!

If you are still interested in doing STEM outreach on campus, this is a fantastic (and convenient) program that meets a real demand. This partnership between Columbia Engineering Outreach Programs and the Double Discovery Center supports students who will be the first in their families to attend college, and who either need extra help in STEM subjects or who are looking for more challenge in STEM fields.

Debunking Ebola: Disease, Transmission, & Management (10/16)

In light of the recent Ebola outbreak, join Charles Drew Pre-Medical Society and Dr. Jonathan Lai of Albert Einstein College of Medicine in a conversation to increase awareness of the medical, public health, and physiological aspects of the Ebola virus; reduce stigma and provide cultural context of current happenings; address methods of controlling the outbreak; and consider next steps as the global health community moves forward.

ATTENTION: SEAS Sophomores

REMINDER: You will be able to declare your majors starting next week   The online system is scheduled to go live on Tuesday, October 21 and close on Friday, October 24.  You will receive instructions next Tuesday morning via e-mail.  So keep an eye out for the message.   It should only take you a minute or two to declare your major using this online process.

Urban Studies Student Union Meeting (10/14)

This coming Tuesday (10/14) a student meeting will be held for all Urban Studies students (BC, CC, and GS) in Lehman 421 from 7:15pm-8:30 p.m. to discuss the Urban Studies program, what is working for us and what we would like to see improve.

Yes... there will be snacks.

Passport Day (10/10)

A representative from the United States Postal Service will be on campus on Friday, October 10 at the Annual Study Abroad Fair from 12:30-3:30 p.m. in Roone Arledge Auditorium in Lerner Hall to take applications for a US Passport.
