Columbia Celebrates GEN Day

GEN Day is on Monday, April 10.  FLIP at Columbia and FLIP National are spearheading GEN Day, the International Day of Visibility for First-Generation and/or Low-Income Students. FGLI students at Columbia will wear t-shirts on campus declaring our first-generation status, demonstrating our presence and contributions to the campus community. The day will culminate with a mixer involving students, administrators, and faculty, in which we can engage in conversation regarding the FGLI identity. The mixer is on Monday, April 10, from 7pm to 9pm in Broadway Room in Lerner.

We encourage administrators, faculty, and staff to wear red or a GEN Day shirt that can be purchased for $8 (we advise only those who identify as first-generation wear GEN Day shirts).
