There are four immunization documentation requirements that all students - regardless of credit load - must meet before registering for classes or accessing University campuses and facilities: measles, mumps, and rubella; meningitis decision; seasonal influenza; and Covid-19. Note that Columbia has made Covid-19 vaccination a requirement for all students, faculty and staff. Visit the University’s Covid-19 website for information about the vaccine requirement and other related questions.
For complete instructions or for more information about these immunization requirements, visit the Columbia Health website.
Participation In the University testing program (gateway and surveillance testing) is mandatory for all individuals, including those who have been vaccinated.
Community Health Compact
Everyone in this community wants to minimize the risk that we will be exposed or expose others—essential workers, colleagues, classmates, professors, staff, deans, neighbors, family, and friends—to Covid-19.
The Columbia Community Health Compact is our community’s call to action and to recognize our shared responsibility for community health, informed by science and founded on mutual respect.
Students will be asked to digitally sign the compact before arriving on campus and will be expected to uphold its commitments to ensure our community’s safety.
Cleaning and Disinfecting
The University is maintaining a robust cleaning and disinfecting program that meets – and in some areas exceeds – standards issued by the CDC, New York State Department of Health, and OSHA, with a strong focus on frequently touched surfaces.
